Recently purchased a new avic. after not having any t's for a while and its been about 2.5 weeks and have the enclosure set up for and arboreal species but still not a single strand of webbing in the enclosure, I've been keeping the temperature at about 75 at night and 79-80 during the day with about 75-80% humidity at all times. Is this normal or something i should be worried about? If i recall my last avid started building webs immediately.
Thanks for the help!

It can take a few weeks for them to get settled in...
id give it some more time...
wait a bit and see until she settle's...
you can go down to 71 at night...

i've also had an avic that didnt web much when i first started...
the problem was i had my cork bark sticking up vertically in the middle of the enclosure,
in that case she wasn't able to web up because of the distance between the bark and side's of the tank,
it was hard for her to reach out to both sides to set foundation for a web tube...
instead i changed it diagonally leaning toward on one side...
and that saved my avic from the not webbing issue...
so with your t i would try to give it more time...
also can u post a pic of your set up?...

peace,

My A. metallica has webbed twice so far that I've noticed (I purchased him around mid August of this year) 1) He made a hammock to molt in 2) he wrapped a super worm. I'm not to concerned about mine Ts are gonna do what they do when they do. As long as the butt is fat and the water is full (Temp within reason. Humidity in a general range) and it's not showing signs of bad health there isn't to much need for worry.

Amen to FLAmoeba...I expected my A. Versi sling to burrow (as I hear most slings do), but i'd barely got the lid on its tub before it web the crap out of the place.
I expected my B. Smithi to settle right in, cool as you like, but no. Seems to be the most skittish, and the only one that hasnt seaten yet.
Their goina do their own thing, and i think we just gotta remember that they know what their doing...

In my personal experience, A. avicularia aren't typically as heavy webbers as most Avicularia species; they don't appear to have as much of a tendency to build intricate web fortresses to hide inside of.

Anyway, don't worry too much! Regardless of specie, some individuals web up their enclosure the day they're introduced to it, while others will take their time, or even not web at all for quite some time. From what you've stated you seem to be doing everything right, so there's no cause for concern.

Agreed, I have had my Avic hang around for weeks without webbing and then suddenly webs whole hammock in one evening. Not too sure what influences their actions, but nothing to worry about.

Yea you don't anything to worry about, don't go changing his/her enclosure non stop till he starts to web. Because it just may never happen. Mine didnt put a single strand of web for 3 months, till after I got it, and it was only a hammock web to molt on lol.
