Hi Steven,

let it stay for the next weeks (round about 4- 5) in the tank then you could seperate it. Nephila and Nephilengys slings hatched be me after 6- 8 weeks.
Greetings,
Sebastian :D

i know the nephila they also mention above is just a golden orb weaver... not dangerously venomous to man

i imagine the spider in the pics is also a giant orb weaver (even though in the pic the web isn't very orby =P ) and thus not dangerously venomous... but i'm guessing

That's awsome, a really good size true spider!
If you leave the sac in there make sure the the enclosure is escape proof or you might find you have a few more tenants at you place :)
I know some people who caught a really big black widow, put it in a jar with mesh over the top and then forgot about it, they ended up with baby widows all over the house.
Prob wouldn't be as bad with the species you have but still not a great situation, especially if you have other family members sharing the space LOL

nah, dave, the slings won't be able to survive like the widows
they require more humidity. I used to have Nephila sp which i caught in the Taiwan, then i forgot to spray the water to her for few days, and it just dried up and dead
It was an adult, so i doubt the slings would be able to do anything if they got out
