I've been away from AB for a while and I've been pretty busy lately, on top of the fact that my parents have decided that they don't like my tarantulas anymore and they're trying to get me to sell them.
But that's aside from the point. Like the title says, I need some good photo references of some tarantula species because I'm thinking about starting a new art project and would like to basically throw together drawings of some of the most "aesthetically-pleasing Ts" to show the beauty of them instead of the usual black/brown-creepy-crawly-drawings. I haven't decided whether to make it digital art or a traditional painting (either with acrylics or oils), so it'd be nice to get some suggestions there. It would be pretty difficult to make it digital, seeing as I don't have a tablet, but I've made some decent stuff in the past with a mouse.
Now, back to the references. I need really good photos that show the vivid colors, are nice and sharp and have good contrast, and an interesting pose. The species I'm thinking about having on the piece:
-A. minatrix
-A. purpurea
-A. versicolor
-B. boehmei
-C. cyanopubescens
-C. fasciatum
-Cyriopagopus sp. "Singapore Blue"
-H. incei
-H. maculata
-M. balfouri
-P. nigricolor
-P. metallica
-P. ornata
-P. regalis
-P. rufilata
-P. irminia
-P. pulcher
-P. murinus
That's a quick list I just threw together. If there are any more suggestions, I'd love to hear them. Of course, I'm asking for references directly to you guys, since you're not supposed to take a photo reference from someone without asking them and giving them credit.
Randy May's photos (as seen on Botarby8s) are some of my favorites, but there are some pictures on here that are really good too.
Thanks for your help! :worship:
