We finally got the therea petiveriana that we wanted; but we haven't been able to find out very much about their care on the internet.
Does anyone have ANY experience to share?
Not too sure about how to proceed with these guys...:?

We paid a pretty penny for these guys and don't wanna blow it!
They're so cute!

I am currently quite biased about roaches now since without even wanting them I have a roach infestation of the common house roach (the latin name escapes me now). I will admit though that they do look nice. I hope your colony thrives. Take lots of pics ^_^

I have had great breeding success with this species. I'll describe my rearing conditions for you. I'm sure others have had success using other methods but this has worked for my colony:

I rear mine in sweater box racks with heat tape down the back. The rear portion of the container gets about 90 degrees, the front about 75.
For substrate I use a mix of organic peat, dry/rotten oak leaves, and coco-fiber.
I keep it fairly moist, but also provide a dry area as well.
I feed Repashy Superfoods Crested Gecko Diet, dogfood, carrots, squash, sweet potato.

It took a very long time to get my colony established (about a year). Now I have more nymphs than I can count!

good luck!

I'm quite new to the board and don't really know much of the terminology. Sorry for the noob question but what is "rearing" ?
