Scott, Debby, Dave, apologies if I made you choke on your coffee!!

I'm honing my sexing skills, and I'm thinking that the 3" curly exuvia below says "MALE!" How am I doing?

Boy, I can't wait to see how many hits this thread is gonna get!
I won't guess at the sex, but I wouldn't be surprised if others support your male hypothesis.

yeah, i'd havee to go with male as my first instinct as well, but i would need a closer/clearer shot of the molt.... but i'm by no means even halfway knowledgable about this compared with others here... :D

Actually this is how I learned... I looked at other posts like this and made my decision, then scrolled down to find out if I was right!! That enbales you to get more practice if you don't have a lot of molts at home to examine!

And this helped me A LOT:
Sexing Tarantulas Revisited by Dr. Robert Gale Breene III

I forgot to add, there are no flaps whatsoever, it is all flat. My other curly molted as well, but tore up the exuvia a bit. I did manage to get it untangled, and there were two definite flaps sticking up.... GIRL!!!! Well, I'll confirm that on the next molt!

uh huh

The reson every one is going to look in this thread, is because everybody likes sex.

I am agreing to the male hypothesis though, there is no sure way that i'm correct. I say have some one experienced look at the skin to verify that it is infact a male.

have a nice day

I know how to get a good sampling of opinions, don't I?

And that's why I posted, cuz there are some on this board who will be able to tell 100%!

And, as an added bonus, you are getting practice at sexing!=D

Now let's see if you're right! I hope you are, cuz I have little females TOO!!!=D

As titilating as the title of the thread is, I must confess that I am unable to help you with this particular instance of sex.

It would be nice to see those shots (particularly the 1st) posted individually (and cropped if they're high res) so we can see the region of interest in detail. While Eddie's shots are overboard, a similar closeup is needed.

On the bright side, a 3" curly should be easily sexable just looking at the external anatomy.
