Thanks!!! It was just laying flat on the ground. Someone was going to crush it.Looks like it might be a white-banded fishing spider (Dolomedes albineus). Gorgeous spider. Glad you rescued it.
Thank youCorrect, it’s Dolomedes albineus. Beautiful spider!
You're very welcome. Still new to identifying spiders so glad I got it right lol. Definitely, congrats on the beauty. I've heard fishing spiders make good pets. Thanks!!! It was just laying flat on the ground. Someone was going to crush it.
Yeah, not sure if i am keeping it yet. Honestly have arachnophobia. Hoping this could help me understand spiders better. Definitely didn't want to see it die though. You're very welcome. Can always set up an enclosure (doesn't have to be a fancy one) and just observe it for a while. The good thing about having a wild caught from your area is that you can release them if you choose not to keep them. I used to be skittish of wolf spiders, but ever since I owned my first one, they have become some of my favorite spiders. Good luck with whether you choose to keep it or release it.Yeah, not sure if i am keeping it yet. Honestly have arachnophobia. Hoping this could help me understand spiders better.
