I keep pulling up some kind of a crab spider Xysticus croceus but it has built a web in and out of the plant. I did read that they do not build webs. I have held it and it seems friendly. I am just wanting to know what it is. If anyone can identify it, I would appreciate it. Thank you IMG_20250101_220949885~2.jpg IMG_20250101_220949885.jpg IMG_20250101_215027.jpg

It does look like a spider in the genus Xysticus. Just unsure of the actual species because of the blurry pics.

I'm inclined to agree with Xysticus sp. But almost surely not X. croceus, unless you have recently imported something from east China.

IMG_20250102_194456.jpg I was trying to get a better picture of him trying to get him to move around and he crawled off my plant last night which is on a 3 foot stand. I thought he was gone forever. I just looked and I saw some new webbing. Such a tiny guy. Here is another shot. I used to have over 30 reptiles years ago so yes I am always into nature. I'm kind of a dork. I will let him live there as long as he wants.

Will be looking for food that's what that position on the last pic is, we are hunting, if you can maybe try offering food, these will literally eat any insects you offer n I third the notion of xysticus. So cute, your very lucky to have your little friend 😊.
