Hello,
We spotted this little one in our backyard and I'm having a difficult time identifying it using Google lens. We are in Salt Lake County, Utah.
Thanks in advance. 20240531_125912.jpg 20240531_130527.jpg 20240531_130634.jpg 20240531_130747.jpg 20240531_130901.jpg

Appears to be Araneus Diadematus. Most likely female as males usually have a slimmer abdomen. Try to preserve and protect, encouraging breeding and offspring. Beautiful highly beneficial garden decorations.

If google lens does not work well, try labnol, reverse image search. It always gets me on the right track.

It is that time of year, and where i am at in quebec canada, Araneus Diadematus are starting to come out everywhere.

This looks like Enoplognatha ovata to me, and it is a juvenile male. You can see the swollen pedipalps where the emboli will be in the next molt

Could also be E. latimana, but this is the most likely ID. (Definitely not an Araneus or any other orb weaver, eye arrangement is very different than any Araneidae.)

Yeah I wasn’t saying it was definitely E. ovata, just that it looked like it to me when I saw it. And yeah that’s the first thing I checked was the eyes! I was looking at my guess and the OPs photo side by side to see their eyes.
