Need HELP Getting Ant Queens

Hey guys I was wondering if any of you could help me to get some ant queens I really want to start a colony, please help if you can?

Yes actually , there is a local species that build nest out of pine needles and these others the common red ants, but I might want a diffrent species from somewhere else( even though They are hard to get). And I realr dont want to wait for the ants annual flight and stuff. Is there any way I can order a ant queen?

Unless you find someone within your state that would sell you one, the answer is no. The USDA is very VERY strict about the importation of live ants and most other arthropods without special permits which are very rarely issued to anyone let alone private individuals.Your best bet is to wait until mating flights happen.

Yes, I know I have been reading about that... but is it still illegal to sell from state to state?

Technically yes, if you get caught you can receive a hefty fine.

I believe its legal instate, but that varies from state to state. Until then you would have to find some one to sell you a female reproductive localy, or you would have to catch one in the spring!
