Hey, I recently caught a sonoran desert toad and I have 2 desert tortoises in an enclosure outside. If I put the toad with them will anything bad happen to the tortoises? He is extremely potent.
The one pictured in the ad is hotlinked from erowid.org
In Arizona, U.S.A., one may legally bag up to ten toads with a fishing license.
(according to wikipedia)
It is however considered a serious crime (manufacturing of a schedule 1 narcotic) to milk the toxins from this animal (or suggest the buyer do so)
subsequently, I beleive the poster is clean as he sugested no such thing.
<edit> a pretty good deal for this animal, ethno-related sites sell them for alot more.
as long as the animal was collected by someone carrying a fishing license, It is not "poaching"
also, it would be a very ill-advised idea to keep this animal with tortoises.
They can bite when they feel something is lumbering too close to their face.
That would be injurous to the toad, and likely deadly to both animals.
oh, upon further examination, Arizona DOES not allow the animal to be sold.
the Arizona Department of Game and Fish is clear about the law in Arizona: "An individual shall not... export any live wildlife from the state; 3. Transport, possess, offer for sale, sell, sell as live bait, trade, give away, purchase, rent, lease, display, exhibit, propagate... within the state..."
So technically, i guess the only legitimate use for this animal is sport
Because I have a legit fishing license since I am over the age of 14, I have not sold the told. He is now my pet. God, all you guys just shut the <edit> up!
