Trying to find out what species this little caterpillar is.

I found it on an Oak leaf, it curls the leaf with silk and sleeps inside of it, and at night emerges to feed on the leaves.

When I found it the caterpillar was tiny and very thin, it's body was light green and had a very large black head compared to it's body size. But now it changed to grayish with a white stripe and brownish head, it's still slim, and has very little hair. I dont think it's done growing.

Mabye it's species varies is color?

I think the common name for it is "oak leaf roller", don't know for sure what it is though, but might get you somewhere with it.
