Receiving these trio of pandinus species 3i/4i (1st and 2nd pic) from a breeder from morphmarket. They were from a gravid female out of a Congo shipment. I don't think they are true emperors due to coloration of their telsons and the granulation of the pedipalps. What do you guys think? I was thinking of having a true "emperor" communal set up but don't want to mix up different species of pandinus with a true emperor that I have (3rd picture) I have been a long time lurker and now a first time poster and would like some assistance from the community!!

It's not possible to accurately identify at this age as virtually all members of Pandininae and Heterometrinae look nearly identical at this size.

That being said, the first two pictures do not appear to be Pandinus imperator due to the dark telsons and shape of the pedipalps. The third picture could possibly be P. imperator, however you will have to wait until it molts a few times for it to be readily identifiable.

Does the Hetertometrinae habit African continent? The trio I’m getting are from a gravid female that came out of Congo is what the breeder has told me. They were just sold as “CB Pandinus” The single scorpling I have in the picture with the white telson was sold as a true CB P. imperator , third generation. My question is can different species of “pandinus” cohabit due to the close proximity they probably were in the wild?

Heterometrinae aren't found in Africa, would agree it's not Pandinus imperator at least due to not having a white telson. If it's from morphmarket could be anything really, breeder could have told you he got it from the Congo and it turns out it was just an H silenus someone mislabed as a Pandinus. Also Pandinus imperators and dictators are both not found in the Congo, Pandinus are found in West Africa down into the Nigeria-Cameroon border, while P dictators are found a bit more South down into Gabon.

I’m hoping for the best for the 3 I’m going to be receiving. Whether they are P. Imperator or not in a couple of molts I’ll be able to find out. I’m keeping the true emperor I have separate from the other 3 until I can be sure.

I’ll do as advised! I wanted to start a breeding colony with just emperors but that seems harder said than done
If you want to breed them purchase adults that way you can be sure what you're getting.
Not only that Emperor's can take many years before mature enough to breed .

Not necessarily trying to breed them. I was hoping for a communal set up with the imperator that I have. If they happened to breed naturally later down then that’s great but breeding wasn’t the main focus

I wouldn't really keep emps communal personally, they seem like a "communal until they aren't" species. If you search around here you'll find plenty of stories of Pandinus/Heterometrus communals that were fine for years until one of them decided to eat their tank mates.
