Gerber 1st and 2nd baby foods are in perfectly rectangular containers that are clear durable plastic with locking snap lids. So what theres a lot of containers like that right? Wrong, they are perfectly sized AND they have larger flat lids which allow them to be stacked very sturdy. These are absolutely perfect for sling enclosures and for shipping needs. The top is crystal clear to see into, and the sides are pretty clear themselves. So if you know someone with a baby id be asking them to save there containers :p. Will post some pics if i get a chance here shortly after i rehouse some of my slings into them :).
Cheers

peanut butter containers work great, in the same way - for larger slings/juvies. ;)

Film canisters do work ok for shipping but you have to put some kinda ventilation in there

Yeap... I use them too. Not for slings that small, though. Are they good for the spiders, or do You just like them? Don't they have problems with finding food?

Your probably referring to the first pic where the T looks real small, thats the same T in the 2nd pic. Its just the angle and its scrunched up making it look smaller than it is. The containers measures like 1.5 wide, 3 long, 2 tall (with substrate 1.5) and the slings are 3/4" so no thats not too large for these guys. They have no problems finding food in that size enclosure. I think its better than vials, and more readily available to me (and completely free). Its really cool how nicely they stack, that comes in handy.
Cheers

Those are really nice Jade! I've never seen baby food containers like that. Must be something relatively new. Can you buy containers that size in bulk without the baby food in them?

Been using those myself, right now I have a P scrofa (Sonoi) in one and G rosea in the other. They've been in them since Oct '07.

P scrofa when first put in; and yes, that is a hide built of Legos.

A few months later, getting bigger

She is now big enough that she can stretch from one side to the other. I will be re-housing her after her next molt, and then someone else can move into the "Gerber House".

Dimentions are about 4"L x 2"W. That's just approximate. Don't want to wake the hubby to go measure.
