Texas Rat Snake, definitely not the best of pets, they will always bite. She is about 3 years old now and bite me 3 time just yesterday lol. Given more than one food item these rat snakes will take each item in a different coil at the same time. This little girl loves medium rats

I've had wc TX Rats that were really nice, especially an orange-phase from Louisiana that I had several years ago. On the other hand, I've also had Leucistics, cb of course, that never did tame down but were always ready to bite. It all depends on the individual snake, at least that's what I've found. Most people insist that Water Snakes(Nerodia sp.) and Coachwhips(Masticophis flagellum) are inevitably nasty and untamable, but I've never had one yet-and I've had a LOT of both-that didn't become tame. I've had cb Corns that would strike at the glass of their enclosure if I so much as walked by, and a Ball Python that would actually come up out of its enclosure to bite me, so it's really an individual thing with each snake.

this is a ltc and has never calmed down, an escape artist as well
Sounds about right. Every Texas rat I've been in contact with have been bitey. I watched an adult lazily lean to the side and bite my hand sideways. It was fascinating how slow he was in doing so {D
