Naming my rose

So I am one of those people for whom picking a name is just a really big deal, even for a Tarantula.

SO far I have:

Mio
Rosalind
Calantha
Quynh (quin)
Iniabi

All of them mean good things, ranging from rose blossom to beautiful flower to bringer of life. I don't care if that is ironic to most people for a big spider, I think they are some of the most beautiful creatures on this earth. This individual radiates calm. I really like her. She is very gentle.

Assuming I'm not totally nuts, anyone have one they like more than the others? I kind of am leaning towards Quynh, which means flower that blooms at night.

here's the lovely lady herself, at least I think she is a girl..some of the names are also unisex but there were a couple I just had to add even though they're girly.

All of my little ones have names. Rather than wanting there to be extra meaning though, I name them something that I feel fits in the moment.
My first T, A G. Pulchripes is named Arachne
B. Vagans- Mr. Fire Butt
2 A. Versicolors- Charles/Charlotte (as in charlottes web) and Belle (I generally just call them my blue babies)
P. Irminia- Webster, they are a heavy webbing species so I think it fits
Finally my G. Rosea- Sable, super calm and fun until she sees the feeding tongs, then she gets wild.

On a side note I noticed that you keep that G. Rosea on bark, that really isn't good for her as if she suffers a fall it could puncture her and seriously injure her/kill her. Generally the consensus is that if you are going to put a T on it, it should not have any edges. Coco coir or peat moss are by far the most recommended for Ts. Other people have mixes of substrate that they use but it is really up to you. She looks pretty though.

Yeah someone told me that right after the photo was taken and she's on paper towel for the night, I'll get something else tomorrow. I just got her today so hopefully, no harm done and I'm very thankful I was told. I hadn't even thought of a fall. I was more concerned with a dry, safe substrate to walk on..and I have a bit of hate for coconut stuff so I think I'll try buying it in big bags dry (they sell it loose) or use peat, just have to buy some tomorrow.

But for tonight she is definitely safe, and thank you, I think she is pretty too. The picture does her no justice, her thorax is covered in truly rose colored hairs that shine when light hits them, like little pieces of foil. She's really cool looking, IMO. Not as neat as the cobalt I saw today in terms of color but for temper she wins.

Any input on names?

I'm having a tough time deciding. I have decided Quynh is going to go to one of my mice, who it actually suits well. I love that name.

But...the spider is eluding me.

I like to give my T's cute, fluffy names, or names that you would normally give to other pets. I would totally name a big T Fido and then give him a hide in the shape of a dog house.

You can give it a cutesy name, a funny name, a pretty name, or name it after a character from a book or movie. Or just name it after an inanimate object. Like Bookcase, or Brick. Or name it Honey Boo Boo.

I actually like that name for a T. Honey Boo Boo.

i named my rosie "a cheap and evil girl" because that's exactly what she was. also i love bree sharp.

all my t's are named after music so unless you're willing to go with long names ("every rose has its thorn" or "primrose in the wind") kindly ignore my suggestions.

I like Rosalind as well, although I like the Spanish version, Rosalinda (pronounced roe-sah-LEEN-dah) a bit better. But yeah, it's your pet. Congrats. =)

I love music names. I use those a LOT with my pets.

I have a beautiful chicken named Victoria..I love the name.

I think I am going to go with Rosalind, it's a sort of typical name for a rosey but I like so I guess that it'll stay.
