My wife found this guy today while we were out herping/bugging together. Found in central Alabama.....All I know is that it is a MALE, as he had nice size boxing gloves. BTW my wrist is about 3" across. Anybody know what he is?

Possibly Dolomedes, maybe D. tenebrosus. The spindly little males are dwarfed by the females.

I do, or did... But then I went to camp for five days and they all died through some tragic accident. I had left them food, bu they couldn't eat it due to the fact that they were carrying eggsacks in their jaws. One of the said eggsacs hatched in my absence, and the container they hatched in was not at all equipped to contain the little demons. Needless to say, there are now a crapload of miniature fishing spiders that seem to be teleporting around my room. I could probably get a female for you, but they're out of season. Nowhere to be found. You might have better luck finding one yourself, the nearest rocky creekbed might be a good place to look. Then again, they might be totally absent from where you look, the populations are quite localized. There are two creeks in my town, nearly identical, only about a mile apart. One is sometimes crawling with the things, while the other is entirley lacking.
