No photo, sorry. I should have taken one, but when you spy a fly, there's no time to waste in catching it.

It's slightly larger than a domestic housefly (but nowhere NEAR the size of a horsefly). It is light on the bottom, dark on top, and its eyes are dark with a sporty green double-band across them, almost like the outline of Geordi's visor on Star Trek. This fly looked like he should have entered a boat race judging by this color pattern.

I know, really descriptive...{D

Any thoughts?

I might be able to snap a shot of the carcass later-- I fed it to a recluse the moment I found it.

Okay, perhaps relating it to a boat was a bit poetic, oops. Unfortunately, the green bands have faded from the eyes since it died. I took some photos:

Oops....that wasn't a domestic housefly in the last photo...but it's the same size, anyway.

looks like some type of fly that eats pieces off of me.
