Hey forum friends, can someone give me the basics of care for the N. incei. I know they are webbers, but are they obligate burrowers or webbers like GBB? Also how moist or dry should substrate be?? I can't seem to find any info about care that is up to date. So any info about N. incei care is appreciated, thanks. :embarrassed:

They web like GBB but more heavily and closer to ground level (unlike GBBs which just web up everything in existence), give them a couple inches of substrate (mine's never even attempted to burrow) and a shedload of anchor points, I forgo a traditional hide in favour of a slab of bark leant against one of the sides (they'll just web over a normal hide and never use it), keep the substrate slightly moist and you're good.

Basically everything stated above, only thing I have to add is that my sling did make use of the substrate and dig straight down to the bottom after webbing up the entirety of the enclosure. :)

Cool little unrated species. Slam prey like a T three times their size, quick, elaborate webbers but it's rare that I look at the enclosure and can't see my two out. Very gorgeous in both color forums, although I have a preference for the NCF.

Anchor points are more important than a hide...they will create their own hide out of webbing.

The biggest difference between them and a GBB is that a GBB is an arid species...incei are moisture dependent....damp sub and try not to let it dry for very long, if ever.

One of the faster growing terrestrial species...and they have an even better appetite IMO than a GBB does.

I think as slings they'll make "web tunnel" areas or little burrows. When they get bigger they usually web up more of the enclosure and stay out, or they'll build a shallow burrow and chill in there (I don't own any but I've had 2 briefly and read on them).

I've been keeping these lovely tarantula for over 10 years and they are my favorite for personality, the amount they are out and about, hardy and excellent appetites. They really are a great all round T and the gold color form is breathtaking. I am curious to see how my mixed color form communal will turn out. I know nothing about tarantula genetics lol. I just think these are an all round amazing tarantula to keep.
