I am so exited!!!!!! My very first T!!! Her name is Lydia got the name from the movie Beetlejuice.

CoCo Substrate was still a little moist so I took the T out after taking these pics. That stuff is hard to dry out. I plan on adding more substrate after the rest dries out. I hope the medium size kritter keeper isn't too big. If it is, I have a back up plan. The rock in the keeper use to be a heat rock. I cut the cord on it and tossed it in there. The toilet paper roll was the only thing that she would go into during rehousing so I left it in there for her. The blue box in there was supposed to be her temporary hide until I get one of those coconut hides.

I just bought 2 pinhead crickets. What is the best way to remove them from the plastic bag that they are in and get them into the smithis container? Also if she doesn't eat these, what is the easiest way to get them back out of her enclosure? How long should I leave the crickets in for? Thanks.

About the pinheads, I would suggest a small-medium sized cricket for that size of T, she looks big enough to eat that size of prey IMO. I usually pinch off a corner of the bag and separate one or two crickets from the bunch. I keep the corner with the lot of them pinched off and then open the T cage and shake the one or two into the enclosure (don't drop them onto the T, mine hate that!) and away they go. If she refuses the cricket I stick my hand in the T cage and use an empty votive to scoop up the remaining crickets.

Edit: I would leave the crickets in there until they are gone, or if they are females and she doesn't eat them snag them because they start to lay eggs all over. Female crickets have the long black stem looking thing sticking out of their abdomen at the end. Also, giver your T a day or two to settle in before a feed, she may be more likely to eat. If you still have crickets in there after two or three days I'd pull them. Again, just my opinion! Enjoy!!!

Ok next time I will get the medium sized crickets. I pinched off the corner of the bag as you mentioned and it worked great, thanks!! She doesn't seem to want them right now. One of the crickets is chilling inside her hide with her and she is kicking hairs at it. They don't seem have long black stem things.

Ah, they are probably male or too small to tell. She may eat them and she may not. Have fun, she's cute!
