I rarely, if not never see my tarantulas kicking hairs. This also applies to two (I used to have three, and I gave one away to @Craig73 ) of my Bumba horrida as well. Because of that, I was not even aware of the fact that Bumba horrida is very capable of kicking hairs, until @Craig73 told me all about it.

Even just now, I rehoused both of them into larger enclosures, with just a bit of struggle. The struggle was just one of them being stubborn, and would not cooperate with me. Thus I had to gently slide over, and keep push it to another enclosure for about ten minutes. No threat posing, bolting, kicking hairs were involved at all.

I think I can safely say that my two of Bumba horrida are truly broken, or very special in a way. How is your Bumba horrida, if you are keeping one or two that is?

Below pictures are the right after I rehoused them:

Mine is still a sling but is quite docile. When I tried to move her out of the vial and into her permanent enclosure she played dead at first, hunkering down and refusing to move. She also loves to eat. When I first got her she spent 2 whole days non stop eating a pre-killed mealworm I gave her. Slow grower too, but very active. Constantly digging and renovating her burrow. Seriously underrated species, in my opinion. In photos they look so-so but in person they're beautiful and unique.

this is how most of my rehouses go, they just refuse to move. Even things like tapis and psalmos. I just end up picking up whatever is under them or putting them in a ladle and lifting them into the new enclosure.

They look even more impressive in person. When I first saw them online I thought "kinda cool, but meh," but when I saw even the tiny slings in person at a reptile show I was amazed. I immediately thought "I must have these!" .

I've raised two females and a male from slings and they never kicked hairs... until the male matured. He is the flickiest in my collection right now. Open the lid and he starts kicking away.

Definitely a fun species. I've had them burst out of what looked like solid ground to grab crickets and move all the dirt from the bottom of the enclosure to the top, leaving a chamber below floating dirt. And wow does the MM look like a true spider, all skinny legs and small (now balding) abdomen.
