My toad's bigger than yours

Over memorial day weekend, I went to Repticon Baltimore, mostly searching for new T's. I only really picked up a tiny H. lividum sling (amazingly enough I didnt' have one of those yet!), but I also got a GIANT bufo toad! This thing's bigger than the two I had at home, and I told the guy I was totally jealous of it's size, haha. Sooo... had to get one!

And yes, I get easily excited about giant cane toads... lol.

Umm... If you caught a wild cane toad... pretty sure its n ot that big if its from florida... only Suriname and the ones from aussie cane toads are the ones that get to a massive size.

Florida cane toads only get to like what--- 4-5inches at most. Maybe 6.

Bufo americanus (I use the old scientific name--- newer name is actually anaxyrus americanus americanus), can range from 3inches to 5inches(I live in nj and I'ved seen the occassional 5inch american toad. Ussually are females though.

If you want to find a "Big" toad try buying a bufo alvarius which are extremely large for a NATIVE american toad. Cane toads are introduced and not really a native species.

Umm, that's my photo...... I'm not sure how you could have seen it online 3 years ago when I only snapped the photo two days ago?

I purchased it at Repticon over the weekend. I don't even live in or near Florida to catch a wild cane toad from there, anyway. I'll try to get a photo of the toad in my hands, although it's hard to do so by myself.. maybe I'll get my kid next to the toad as size reference

Anyway, arnt bufo toads or ' cane toads ' the kind that omit a toxin if provoked, and you can get high off it?

How are these as pets? I can say I have an especially high opinion of them after having to boot them off trails in Costa Rica in some areas they are extremely numerous-especially near lights. i suppose they'd be very responsive-however.
