Barbossa - Female Corn Snake x Pituophis hybrid (suspected by our vet). This photo really doesn't show off her size.

"The ball python" A rescue. My mother called me with a vague "Do you want a python" statement. After some prodding she said it was a "Bulb python, like you had when you were younger". Turns out a kid I went to HS with had it, and abandoned it at his mothers. It hadn't been fed in at least 6 months, and was in a bare glass aquarium, no water, caked with urates and shed. 6 months is how long it was at his mothers house before she decided to do something about it, I suspect it hadn't been fed in much longer. This was a little bit into recovery.

Burn Unit, a rescued Crested Gecko. She spent almost a year of her life living in a plastic KK after her person went off to college. The mother ended up turning her over to the store I worked at because she didn't have time. She had layers of shed stuck to her, her crests have mostly fallen off from retained sheds. She had a weird fungal thing going on with her tail, open wound on the top of her head, dehydrated and insanely thin.

Haha, I do. I bought my first two Crested's (and a corn snake, and the rat snake) after a few too many drinks at the MARS show auction, and I never looked back. I was a snake person before them. Now it's hard decisions when I decide to add something. Do I add an invert, a new gecko, a new species, a new snake? Thankfully my boyfriend is fairly tolerant of all of this. He wasn't excited about the geckos until they started paying for their own food and the snakes food. I doubt I'll ever make a profit, but it's nice to at least offset the costs.

Beautiful geckos, I love the pic of the one on the little chair and the red one underneath it. Love cresties but haven't had the pleasure of owning one yet.

Haha my girlfriend feels the same way about my roaches, she was not fond of them at all but after they paid for themselves she was a little more okay with it, and then once they paid for a couple heat lamps, kritter keepers, some other supplies, and most of my T's and half my scorps were recieved in trade for with roaches so she's over it.

What a gorgeous and diverse collection! Big props to you for taking in helpless rescues and nursing them back to health.

My boyfriend wasn't happy about the roaches at first. He's tolerant of them now, and can look into their tank and move the cardboard a bit, but that's about it. He only reluctantly agreed to them because the crickets were driving us crazy.
