they have big flashing eat-me beacons on they're rear so i imagine they're easy food for him to find...plus they're cool to watch him eat, their but still blinks even when he's munching their heads off
thats cool. how long has he been eating them? cause i kept bearded dragons for a while and one of the big dont's as far as their feeding goes was fireflies. Theres some kinda protein or something in the firefly's blood that kills bearded dragons and most other kind of lizards. Maybe tarantulas are immune to this because their anatomy is so diffrent. Anyone else have experience feeding fireflies to pets?
I also have heard the same things, alot of the native spiders around here will not eat fireflies. I have seen orb weavers cut them loose from webs, I don't know if they taste bad or are actually harmful to other predators but I wouldn't risk feeding them to your T's.
I've been eating fireflies for years with no ill effects....lol...my stepson, neices and nephews think I'm crazy..lol..It's been a camping tradition now for years...couple beers..couple fireflies..all started on a dare and is now tradition...and I'm still here...lol..keeps the kids busy for a couple hours trying to catch them...lol...peace...
