Cool pics, awsome looking shovelnose.
thanks, i do my best to take care of him. unfortunately, i made the dumb mistake of putting a, like, 1 inch pleco in the tank becuase the previous one died. fortunately, i was able to intervine before the pelco got killed and/or swallowed and the shovelnose got his throat damaged severely. i take the continuation of his gnawing hunger as a sign that he didn't recieve any permanent damage.

on another subject, i am to recieve a typhlonectes natans tomorrow, and you guys will be some of the first to know when i do.

just got her this morning, and it took me about 5 minutes to see her stay still enough to sex her. i hope you like her as much as i do. she's 10 inches. also got a cory cat that's 1-2 inches. if you can identify the species, it would be appreciated.

1. going out of her castle

2. her little buddy

3. swimming along past the cory

4. going around a fake plant. that little cat is a camera hog.

i also have a baby pleco in the setup, the same one my shovelnose regurgitated, but it is not in the pics because i put it in the tank afterwards.

a few more pics:

1. the pleco. it is blurry because he was hiding behind the castle, and i had to select a piece from a larger shot.

2. marbled achara at leisure

3. tiger shovelnose. minnow's POV, 1/4 second before everything becomes dark....

4. the castle. i would have taken another shot of it's inhabitant, but she was/is exploring the tank on a subterranian level.

i am not sure if i can get many more shots of my little, slimy girl in the future. since she settled in, that castle might as well be her whole tank. she occasionally goes out, but usually only to breathe. i found a shed skin yesterday and her block (wad) of bloodworms is gone, so i at least know she is healthy. oh, and the cory died.

Those shovelnose get a couple feet long at best do they not?

I remember we had some of those, as well as Redtailed catfish at the petstore where I worked years back...both ate their weight in goldfish...
