You were close, actually it is 3 inches. I tried to take another photo
this morning and I carefully unscrewed the lid of the jar. Before I could
lift the lid he start scampering everywhere at once. Wow are they
quick! I'll get a better pic later.
Nhandu chromatus is definitely an awesome T. I have one currently (had others in the past) that is 3" now. If this is the first time you have owned one, I will tell you this...they are cool, but do not underestimate its temper. Do not get me wrong, they are no C. crawshayi, but I have been caught by surprise. They are also quick growers as well. You will certainly enjoy this one as a new addition to your collection. May I make a suggestion? If you like N. chromatus, try Acanthoscurria geniculata sometime. They are similar in color, but get much bigger. "Genics" are built like Sherman tanks. And they have quite an appetite. Good luck !
Thanks! I have already been thinking about these. I have 6 T's now
and I need to get a good display setup organized for them soon.
At present I have the 2 1/2" juvys in 6x6x6 jars, but they will be
getting more space next time they molt. The only one that is lagging
behind in growth is b. smithi. It will be at least 6 months before I
will be ready for more spiders. :?
