Got this baby and the Reptile Expo in Melville, Long Island yesterday. It was love at first sight :)
It's a female smithi, not full grown yet, and its friendly as anything

This was the container I bought her in.

I highly recommend these guys, there beautiful, and very handleable.

Love the smithi. Mine is about 2.5in. Very pretty and docile. Great buy when you have the money

very nice. I have a few other Brachys in my collection but I don't have a smithi yet. Should probably get one since they seem to be a staple T.

Wow, she's beautiful.

My friend has a smithi, but if I could recommend a T to someone, it would be a N.vulpinus. Just something about my girl that makes her different from all the other T's.

I've had more fun watering/cleaning her enclosure than any of my other T's, she decided to get into a fight with the moss I put in the other week, I had to get it out of her fangs ;):D

Yes you should. They are a staple because as far as I am concerned there is not a more beautifull T. than a freshly molted smithi. :worship:

Good thing yours don't flick too much hair. I have 2 of those and they instantly let hair fly at the sound of their container lid opening.

I gotta tell you guys, this is the best T that I have so far. It is the most docile, cool T when it comes to handling. No hair flicking or threatening poses. I take her out almost every night when I get home from work.

That pic of the sling is great. I was thinking of picking up a smithi sling. Its definitely a long term commitment, but it could be cool years down the line to look at your T and say "I raised him/her from birth(almost).

Well, everyone has different preferences, but that is absolutely my favorite part of the hobby, having raised exactly one T that way. Seven years ago we stumbled upon some GBB slings being sold in a pet store, bought one on a whim, and today have a stunning MF. So this spring, when the T bug bit again, I ordered a small variety of slings online. They are SO affordable, and the growth process is just such a privilege to observe.

ATM I have a range of fast- & not-so-fast-growing spp, which is helpful. While the smithi will be a test of patience (tho she's molted once since that last pic and now has about half a leg where that one was missing when I got her), the L. parahybana & N. vulpinus are already several times bigger than they were 5 months ago! :D

OTOH, you wouldn't be guaranteed to end up with as nice an animal as you have now--or a female!

I've often thought it would very interesting to compare individuals of the same species. Do you notice any differences?

Im right inbetween you two lol

Oh, how sweet! How old is it?
