I don't know why it's taken me so long to appreciate this species, but I think Chilobrachys are vastly underrated--I just got my new 6-7" C. guangxiensis girl and she is a monster (I'm in love :p )! Talk about a beast ...she came out of her shipping container on her back and attacking anything which moved. This girl has no fear--she immediately laid down some webbing and set up shop for her next kill, which I promptly threw in a large B. discoid for her.

She is awesome!! I have a C. Andersoni. I really like her. I will have to locate one like you have. Not even going to try to spell that specie! Good luck with her!!

Thanks! I picked her up from Krazy8's. I think Swifty is selling some too. :D

It looks like she needs a molt.

I got one from Krazy8s a while ago too. Chris is selling them so dirt cheap it's crazy! Not to mention they are H-U-G-E. I no longer have it but for the time I did it was by far the meanest spider I had. I'm pretty comfortable with Ts but this one always got my adrenaline going when feeding time came around :)

Sounds like a certain A. geniculata that I know. :D

Seriously though, she's beautiful! Congrats on the addition.
Thanks, it's partly because of you, lol. I had to sell some before I could get some new ones. {D

Chilo's are so cool. I have only the one 4" C "huahini" but she is one of my favorites. I like how they move, even when they're going slow they're fast...

Awesome T! Mine is around the same size. Her attitude is second to none so far. When yours molts she will be stunning! And I agree that they are underated. Chilobrachys is quickly becoming one of my favorite genus.

Yeah, they're becoming mine too. I just got a female C. huahini which is smaller. She's about 4-5". Even she came out of her shipping cup with some attitude--she stood up on all her legs and refused to move, no matter how much prodding I did. I had to wait for her to move on her own time, lol.

I had a similar problem moving mine. She grabbed hold of the cardboard i was using to cap her and absolutely would NOT let go. That was of course after I chased her all over the batroom...
