Just picked him up today from a breeder. He's a champagne colour and was born Sept. 18! He's awesome. He's really small but I have him set up in a big 2'x3' cage which is great cuz these guys need the space. I'm gonna get him a wheel tomorrow and more bedding.

His quills are pretty sharp if they poke you the wrong way and I have a few pin pricks where I bled but it doesn't hurt. It's actually more irritating because it's itchy!

He is so cute omg! can't help loving him haha

Thanks for all the comments, guys!!

Pokeball is really warming up to me and is starting to take less time to calm down. He still huffs and puffs but I think it's natural since we've only been together for a few days. I play with him twice a day (once in the afternoon, once in the evening) and he loves to snuggle into towels.

I bought him a new wheel and he's already making good use of it... especially as a toilet!!!!

Oh ya, he pooped on my hand yesterday -_____-"

But despite his prickly-ness and pooping, he is still super awesome

You know, I was a total reptile/amphibian/arachnid guy but I felt it was time for something cute and it just went from there!

I felt the same way, and so we got a hamster. Fast forward a few months, it was driving me insane. First, its wheel was super squeaky so we got him a new one. Then he started chewing on the bars of his cage. We moved him to a 10gal to stop that behaviour, then the started digging like crazy in the 10gal. And of course hammies are nocturnal, so this would all go down while we're trying to sleep. Once I started threatening to feed him to our ball python, Mackenzie gave him to our neighbours. Now anytime I say I want sugar gliders or kinkajous, he reminds me about Pilgor (the hammie)...so we have to wait for our own place to have any sort of mammal (other than our dog of course) so that it doesn't have to be in our bedroom. Even though now our toads call all night. There's no winning. This is why I like inverts: no noise.

Tell that to most Aussie spiders, and a few of the baboons who stridulate (?) {D

Little fuzzy mammals are so cute... but they just aren't for me. I raised rats, mice, and hamsters for years... and all that bedding, and water bottle noise, etc. lol just doesn't cut it for me!

But ONE day... when I can give it a HUGE enclosure, I'll have another hedgie. lol

My lil bro has a dwarf hamster in a neat little habitrail setup in his room and he's been okay with it for a loong time now.. but of course those things are super small so it wouldn't make much noise anyway lol

I looked into sugargliders too and the general concensus was: they are bitey like my hedgehog is pokey!

I just looked up kinkajou and realized THAT was what the funny animal is called.. I went on a jungle stay in Ecuador and one of the villagers had one as a pet. It was so cute!

My male cane toad used to call but not anymore.. : P
