My new H. Versicolor

You may be thinking "he meant A. Versicolor and posted in the wrong forum," but I assure you this is no mistake.
He was living outside by our pool and it was time to empty the pool and everything so I took him in. My first herp.
I named him Hoppy Gilmore.

he seems to be spending a lot of his non-eating time half-buried in the substrate. seems odd to me as they are supposed to be arboreal and i have stuff for him to climb around on. I also have a water dish i've been changing every day but he seems to enjoy spilling it and sitting in the wet sub around it.

I believe they enjoy the moisture,
perhaps the water dish isn't enough.
