I have wanted one of these as long as I have been in the hobby, and to help me mourn the passing of my beloved P. regalis last week, I decided it was time to get one.

Firecracker? Thunderbolt? Greased lightening? Yes, yes and YES!!! {D Her strike speed is incredible (and ask the one who knows - she nearly had my hand whilst I was transferring her into her tank!!! :8o ), and she is absolutely ferocious, but she is so SO beautiful, and worth every single ounce of adrenolin!! :D

I haven't been able to get any ... erm ... "unhindered" photos yet due to wishing my hands to stay intact! But I just wanted to share the few photos that I do have at the moment, and the promise of more soon! :D

Arriving yesterday morning ...

Not sure if you can read the label - you can certainly see her fangs though ...!!!!

Going ballistic because I misted her tank!

It doesn't have quite the same effect through slightly cloudy plastic, but that was one serious threat pose! She's totally evil, but I absolutely love her to pieces! :D

She was bigger than I was expecting, to be honest - I had read of various people successfully housing adults in this type of container though. She has a good 6 to 8" of substrate, and the tub is about 8" across lengthways, and about 4" across widthways. Do I need to rethink?

In my honest opinion, I would say to move he up to a bigger tank. I dont know how others do it, but I keep all of my adult Ts in 10 gallons (depending on size). It lets you see your T better and gives them plenty of room.

I keep my big girl in a 10 gallon tank filled 3/4 of the way up with coco fiber substrate.

I don't think she needs more width, she needs deeper burrowing space. Mine like to go straight down and then build a tunnel/tower upward when they hit bottom. It looks like they have tall, thin volcanoes in their containers.

I think a 10gal for any haplo is a waste of space, IMHO. Need depth for these guys, they don't need a lot of floorspace. I have seen the plastic cereal containers used for these lots of times and I used clear plastic canisters that were approx. 10.5" tall and about 6" across for my lividum and my longipes. Filled almost to the top with a peat and potting soil mix and a starter tunnel using a spare wooden hammer handle that I made down one side. They did fine in these.
Similar to this pic but with a plastic lid, only cost $1.00 each!

I'm a give 'em space girl. I have two MFs and when I check their water every few days it's always got dirt in it. They take their walkabouts at night when I am sleeping. They still like to cruise even though they sleep in their burrows all day. Mine have 10 gallon tanks. Lots of space to burrow with space to walk makes a happy Hap. With these ladies I want them happy!
