Well here she is, her name is Dharma. Before I get a bunch of negative comments on the substrate, I just want to mention that it feels very much like cork, so it's really soft and actually very smooth, and it comes from fir. However, from the simple fact that it won't be the easiest to clean out, I will probably switch to newspaper over time. Also, my brother and I will be building her a big custom made enclosure after a few months.
They hadn't fed her since the beginning of the month at the pet store, so I decided to see if she'd take a hopper tonight, and she did so very well :D Anyhoo, I hope you like the pics!

Another note, I've switched to a bigger water dish for her since those pics have been taken.

Nice boa. The substrate you are using is pretty common to use. I've used it with my big argentine boas, but I felt it wasn't absorbant enough, so I switched to aspen. I also use cypress mulch for my blood pythons and my water monitor. It holds humidity very well. The only thing I would suggest is feeding her in a feed box that way she won't be able to ingest the substrate.

Peace Out,
Price

Thanks, I'll be doing that her next feeding. I did watch her very carefully last night when she was taking it though, so no probs there.

very nice looking boa, i just got a year old male myself (28" or so)

I love how when they eat they pick their heads up, neither my corn nor my king do this. Is this just a boa thing? Or is it just weird that both of my other snakes dont?
