Very nice! I have some Russian sand boas, and they are so nice to handle! My girls ( 4 and 6 yrs) love to play with them, too. (Do you have kids you'll be sharing the snake with, by any chance?)
The coloring on the Kenyan is so beautiful! Congrats!
Your gunna love these snakes!! I have 4 and theyre all just awesome critters!!
My big ole female is pregnant Gunna be fun to have all the wee babies slithering around.
Morri, yea its a sand boa.Elizabeth.I have a 20 yr old son at home but hes scared to death of spiders and snakes.Juice,I paid $65 for it,I thought that was a little high but I went to that show determined to get one and that was all I found.OldHag,Congrats on soon becoming a Grandma.I hope mine loses his Haplopelma like behavior.5 minutes after I put him in his new home he was burrowed out of sight and I havent seen him since .Thanks everyone.
Don't worry about him burrowing down now. Mine come out at night, and as they get hungry, they come out a lot more than just that! Don't worry that you got a pet sandbox just yet!
Hes gone.I feel so stupid. The first time I tried to feed him too.I put him in a deli container with a pinky(f/t) and went to work.About 12 hours later I came home and found the lid off the container and my snake gone. Its been over 48 hours now and Ive looked everywhere.I feel just terrible about this.Hopefully, somehow he'll survive.I just hope he doesnt make it into the appartment downstairs. .
When mine have gotten out for a little extra stroll, we find them under clothes on left on the floor. Must be sort of warm there compared to the rest of the chilly room. Good luck! Don't give up looking for the little guy.
Ive lost a few also. Luckily theyve always shown up again. One a week later, it was chasing the cat!! Seriously!!
When you feed them in containers...put the container back into their cage!! They are notorious escape artists!! I was gunna say that in my last post and didnt If there is a way...they WILL escape!
wish you good luck in finding the guy! Hes beautiful. Those colors are great!
