I am proud to present my new T!!

Avicularia Avicularia!

Also my very first aboreal species.{D

Any advice is greatly appreciated since I am not too familiar with this species.

Check out the ventral photo and tell me if you think male or female?

After I bought it, we stopped at a few stores on the way home. My T went in with me at every store.

It now knows what shopping is like and is a happy member of Sam's Club.:D

Nice looking A. avicularia and a good starter arboreal species.

What I do with my Avics and other arboreal species is to give them more vertical space than horizontal (floor space), with the enclosure opening mainly near the bottom (think of a 2.5 or 5 gallon tank, turned on on of the small sides to stand tall, and the opening covered with acrylic (with air holes drilled) and a door near the bottom of that side).

You will want something like cork bark and possibly even some fake "silk" vines for it to climb around on and to construct its web retreat.

And good air circulation...

they also need a fair amount of humidity, so make sure you mist a few times a week with a spray bottle if you can get ahold of one. also what i do is mist the side of the tank right near mine. she automatically drinks it right off the side. i like this way because i know for a fact shes finding her water
