My lesson in learning patience...B. smithi molt pics!

I learned a big lesson this morning from my B. smithi molt experience. Even though she has always been very quick about molting in the past, today she taught me patience. Today, she simply took longer. And as they say, good things come to those who wait! I hope you enjoy the pics...

This is how I found her last night. Typical molt. It is also how I found her this morning. Not typical for her at the 11 hour mark or so!



Then, right after I posted my concerns, she started moving... Here is the molt in full!












This is the most well preserved exuvium I have ever recovered from a molt!

Absolutely STUNNING!!! That's so wonderful that you were able to experience the whole thing. Maybe she didn't do it at night because she wanted you to see it? ;)

She's a beaut!! How big?? My MF always took anywhere from 5 hours (shortest) to 10.5 hours (longest).
