Maybe molting, maybe just hiding. Either way, don't open up the dirt curtain, just leave it be. It will come out later when its ready, or make an opening for food.

Last night both our baboon and chile rose enclosed themselves lol. We use egg carton cups for caves and the baboon has just pulled soil over his holes whereas the chile rose has covered hers in dirt / webbing

Resist the urge to go digging. Years ago when I first started collecting, I would worry about not seeing one and go dig it out to find it's ok, it's just experienced a massive earthquake called "me"

After a little bit you will begin to relax and let them be.

C.crawshayi tend to be "pet dirt" T.s. They will normally hide for prolonged periods and in fact, a "sighting" is a rare event. A hiding crawshayi is a happy crawshayi. Our adult F. never comes out of her burrow - but she's plump and doing just fine. our slings have been buried for almost 3 months! lol.
Do not add a heat pad to these guys. They burrow naturally to avoid the heat, and do not realize that digging will actually take them closer to the source. Please remember that though they live in a very hot climate, naturally - they escape the heat by living deep in the ground.
They do not need external heating, as long as the tank is kept at room temp.
Hope this helps!
