Why is it on damp paper towels? Put it back in its enclosure.

Any other information would be helpful I.E. did it fall?

Welcome to AB! :)

It is always beneficial to include as much information as possible when seeking advice or help from others. The more information you can provide, the better the chances are for you (and your T) to get the best help available.

I would also highly suggest that you read through this entire thread:

After you read through all of it, should you have any specific questions, please come back to this thread and ask away. Everyone here wants your T to thrive and they will always try to advise you as best they can.

Welcome! More information will help us help you. No death curl is seen in the photo, but it’s not good to place them on wet paper towel, as it can make it harder for them to breathe. As mentioned, a picture of the whole enclosure and, if the tarantula does it again, the posture that’s concerning you would be helpful, plus any other info you can give about its behaviour. How long was the tarantula exhibiting the behaviour? Was it easily able to move when you checked on it? Any other contextual information we should know about what led to your concern, etc.

Why is it on wet paper towels?? Is it un responsive ? If not get it back in its enclosure.
Yes it is not responding before I posted on here I googled every possible thing that could be wrong. And now I wish I had not posted on here bc I haven’t gotten any responses to what I said but that is fine.

Please stick around, we need people like you who asks questions, and want a bit of help. Let me look back through the thread and give you my personal thoughts.

Just don't let the few ruin the many. Not taking anything away from anybody, but a moderator responded to your post with the right information. I've been doing this for over 20yrs. I was one of the first to ever visit this site. You should stick around too.

Hello,

I think your tarantula G. pulchra ??? Is ready to molt. Sometimes tarantulas molt in an upright position. You may have disturbed the process? It looks like the abdomen/butt is really big! Is it shiny black?

What does its home look like? Can't be much right? Is this your first tarantula? I would just not bother it for a while or until it starts moving around again. Sometimes things happen with tarantulas, nobody really knows why they perish Sometimes.

Please, carry on.

Possibly upright molt , hopefully your spider is ok. I’d leave it alone for a while . I’ve had random mystery deaths before too.

A single static image that isn’t in focus and the scant amount of info make it difficult to suggest what could be wrong.

Fact is we own animals that we know very very little about. One moment they are doing great the next they are not. They are black boxes with 8 legs.

You asked for help and you got feedback. Having clear pictures is VERY important to know what’s going on with tarantulas. If I were you I’d post up a clearer pic of the T and its enclosure so we can guess on what’s wrong.

Read the beginners guide @Arachnopets sent that’s really good for beginners and plenty of info. Next time don’t be so sensitive and focus on care for your T.

Some of us actually gave you a very generous amount of feedback (and our time), considering that you posted one image of a spider clearly not in death curl in that moment and just asked “is it ok?”, leaving us to only throw guesses out there about what the problem could possibly be, and then did not provide any other info or pictures when asked!

Good answers start with good questions and complete information.

But some really passive aggessive messages as well. Beginners panic. They come to forums like this for compassion not some cheap jibe. God I avoid all arachnogods like grim death. Be nice, if you can’t say anything kind shut up. better to say nothing than look like a grumpy old fart.

I hope your tarantula is doing well. Can you give us an update? Look ready to molt. Be prepared for it to disappear in it's burrow for that. I would love to see a picture of it's enclosure. And of course see it after it molts. 😁

Sure, but the OP said they hadn’t gotten any useful responses at all, which is most definitely not true and is a rude thing to say on a thread where many people have absolutely tried to be kind and helpful.

I hope the OP returns to acknowledge that they’ve received several guesses, offers to provide more help with more information, and resources to consult; that they follow up with said information so people can continue to be helpful; and that Rocket is, indeed, alright.

Rude works both ways I guess. But too many people use beginner threads as a place to make snarky comments. This isn’t a forum beginners take much notice of as a result from what I have read online. They come here, get stung once by some smart arse comment, and never come back.
