My G.rosea has never, ever left a bolus.

Granted, he's especially prone to fasts, even by G.rosea standards (I've owned him maybe three years and he has eaten a handful of times), but I didn't even know what a food bolus was until very recently.

My avic leaves boluses like a good T though. Really big ones for his size too.

Does anyone know of a reason why a T might not leave a bolus?

Mine only left them when I use to feed her the occasional pinky. With crickets and super worms I dont ever see them. Lots of poop though.

In my experience avic boluses are easier to find because they don't go to the lengths to hide them. Or maybe with those small fangs they don't smash up the prey item as well.

I used to wonder where the boluses were because with crickets and lateralis I never seemed to find them. I finally figured out that they were getting tucked away in the corner of the enclosure for most of my T's. Not much is left after a little prey item.

If you want to see a bolus, feed your T an adult dubia or blaberus roach. I can pretty much guarantee you will find the bolus as there is a lot more left over than you have probably seen before. That's if you can get your G rosea to eat a large prey item like that!

Ah! That explains it. No bolus cause there aren't enough leftovers!
My Avic left me a huuge bolus. The cricket was just a little too big for him, but the next smallest ones are definently too small. He's kind of at a weird size right now.

I have never seen one from my G. pulchripes either. In fact with her being my first T, I didn't quite know what people were talking about in regards to boluses lol My new A.avic, yes she leaves quite large boluses, funny thing is she is about 1 1/2 inches larger than the pulchripes.

I used to wonder about my H. mac as well. Long ago, my rosie and avic would leave a bolus every time. When I got the H. mac, it blew my mind that there wouldn't be any remains. With my regalis, I can often find 'em but they're very small, hard, compact grey balls. If I don't find 'em quick enough, she apparently relocates them after a period of time so that I can :)
