IMO, for that size of a sling, that enclosure is way too large. I keep those guys in enclosures about 1/4 the size of that one. Putting it into a smaller enclosure may make it possible for it to catch prey easier. Avics are picky eaters as adults, i have to literally almost hand feed my A. metallica, but usually this is seen in juvies and adults and not so much in the slings. So ya, my advice is get a smaller setup.

WAY smaller setup indeed. Also, ditch the light. I'm pretty sure it doesn't like that light in it's face. Keep the humidity high and lots and lots of airflow.

you may want to do a lot of diggin on these guys as they are some of the hardest spiders to raise from slings

lots of air and humidity and yes your enclosure is to large
a pill bottle should be fine till it gets bigger

and congrats on your first t

make in the side so there is proper ventilation
but not to big as to let it out
and yes it looks a lot better
and a twig would make it happy as a bunny:D

and best of luck with your t:D

Looks like a perfect little set-up for it. :)

As long as it happily climbs the sides, there's no real need for a twig in there. Some of mine have things to climb on, others don't, they do fine. hehe

Good job on taking good advice and being open to suggestions! Your little avic is gonna have a great life. Avics are really cute, and it looks like you're doing well for the little guy. :D

Time between molts depends on a lot of factors. Avics supposedly grow fast, but my babies don't seem to be, lol

Legs tucked in could be nothing or it could be something....you never know, sometimes they just rest like that. Generally all legs tucked in under is a bad omen though. Nice size set up just make sure you have a lot of ventilation holes so it doesn't get too moist and stagnant in there.

okay so he doesnt have his legs curled, but he has made himself a web and it takes up half the top already, so he is doing a lot better
