Looks good. My only concern is that there is a lot of space for the T to fall and hurt itself. You should try and make the substrate layer thicker by a few inches. What substrate is that by the way?

I told him about the 30 gallon being too big, but since he had it he wanted to use it. The substrate (if Justin used the stuff I gave him is 50% potting soil and 50% jungle floor stuff, I forget the exact name of it.) Def looks nice. Id stick a blondi in there instead.

That would be a perfect pinktoe Avicularia sp. tank! That way you dont have to worry about a fall too much.

yeh my thoughts with it are it looks good as a display piece but how practical is it?? its a very large tank with alot of places for the T to possibly fall and get stuck

its nice looking but the fall was addressed. And its going to be alot of unused space. For T's the largest spiders can fit find in 20 gallons. And species like yours are fine in 10 gallon tanks (in fact would be fine in a 5 gallon tank to be honest)

Nice setup. As already mentioned, it would be an excellent setup for an arboreal species. Something on the larger side, like a Psalmopoeus cambridgei, perhaps.

Why not dividing it in half and having 2 spiders?
Dividers are not recommended. t's have a nasty habit of going from one side to the next and you wind up with one large T. If you do a divider, it MUST go all the way to the lid with absolutly no gap.

That would be a very good communal Avic tank, plenty of hiding places. One of the guys at the store we went to the other night had 3 Avic Avics living together in a 10 gallon for about 2 years. Said he never had a problem. I may look into this as well.

Setting up 3 partitions would be great as well.

it definitely is a nice looking set up. :D it is a bit big for that spider though. the height has been addressed..but the only other thing that concerns me are the pieces of wood or other decorations that are built up.. i am guessing for climbing? the thing that i am wondering, is how they are secured? if they were just put in there without being held down or supported well, there could be a chance of the spider climbing them and offsetting the weight balance causing that piece of wood to fall over. if it glued down or something, then it should be no problem.

yes, watch the decorations... my grammostola pulchra loves to dig under things, and yours might do it as well.
otherwise it's a nice setup, but an arboreal would do better in it.
