My husband and I have decided this will be my birthday present (birthday Aug 8) along with a nice dinner out.
Robert from Arachnomania is going to be in my hometown on Saturday and is bringing me a nice Avicularia Geroldi, since his Avic. avics. are too young to move out yet. I'll probably get one of those soon too, but I decided to go with the slightly less common spider as well, and maybe even try my hand at breeding geroldis when it grows up.
Plus a geroldi is my first choice, and, upon reflection, I think I can accept a messy, poopy spider - you should see what the kitty does when his tummy is upset. Kitty diarrhea is exponentially worse than t-poop, I'm sure. And I'm usually the one to clean it because my legally blind hubby can't tell where it is, unless he finds it with his foot. Ew.
So yay, I'm getting my slobby, uncouth geroldi - looking forward to sitting around in our underwear together and having belching contests. Hubby and I are unfortunately not the most tidy and organized people on the planet, so the tarantula should feel right at home.
Any fellow Canadians with geroldis? (Thinking of future breeding loans here.)
