I had my 2 rtbs together to mate them for about a month and a half, and I had to take them apart kuz I was leaving town for the holidays and I had to find someone to take care of them,, now that they have been seperated she has gotten really mean. She has been stryking and eveything. She never used to be that way before. Does any one have any idea y? I had to seperate them kuz I couldnt find someone to watch them together. It really sucks. Do u think it would be a good idea to put them back together?

My first thoughts are: Are you 100% sure they are male and female? Could she be pregnant (hormones will do this sometimes)- did you see any matings before you seperated them? Is she giving defensive strikes or aggressive strikes (in your opinion) she very well might be stressed from having the male in there with her? Is this the first time you have tried to breed snakes? Did you cool them down? Did you stop feeding them or did they go off feed on their own? :?

They stayed together in the hide box most of the time so i really couldnt tell what was goin on in there. I dont know if they r aggressive or not, we had to clean out her water dish kuz she shit in it, and when we tried to move her to do it she opened her mouth and just moved away, then when we put the dish back she tried to bite. It is the first time tryin to mate boas. They stopped eating on there own, yes they got cooled down. See when I had them together it was the male that was being mean, its like he was protecting her. But now that they r seperated hes back to normal and now shes the mean one. Its crazy:?

It sounds to me like you might have two boys. All my girls never refuse food until they get really close to giving birth. What size prey items are you tryin? I always feed them meals 1/3 the size of thier normal meals during the breeding season. Females can become aggressive during the season but it is more likely you will see such aggression closer to parturition. The other thing is that I always remove all hides during breeding. Just a thought. Do you have any other snake you plan on breeding either of these snakes with this year? Interested to hear what reaction they get or give around others. Hmmmm.... this is a though one. My best of luck to you.

Large python males get aggressive a lot when with their females. They definately want to protect their girls. It's actully kinda cute (unless you get bit-lol). It's weird that your female is getting all fired up now though, maybe she did get pregnant and her hormones are out of wack (watch for her to ovulate) :? Or maybe she is mad at you for ending her date so soon {D
