My Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens (Green Bottle Blue) Keeps dumping her water out of her dish. Should I continue to refill it when she does?

Every time I fill my GBB's water dish, 5 hours later it's completely empty. I have no idea why or how she does it, the dish itself isn't toppled over or anything. The substrate around the dish I can see is wet from the dish water. Should I just keep refilling it when it's empty or is the now wet substrate enough for her humidity?

just refill it once a week or less, they don't need water constantly but it should have the chance to drink every once in a while

Check the dish for leaks or if there's water being absorbed out of the dish by substrate. You don't want to keep refilling the dish and creating a damp environment for your dry-loving GBB.

Could be leaking but most likely wicking.
Remove and clean the dish.
If it continues to happen, things will get soggy if you keep adding water. A few drops on the webbing or a dish once a week is plenty for a dry spider that eats well.

If it’s not toppled or flipped over and it’s emptying it sounds like webbing is wicking the water out, remove the dish and clean it and put it back in, I think you’ll be good afterwards! I’ve had to do this quite a few times with my Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens too!

Mine used to do that all the time. Just bury your water cup deeper into the substrate. Don't worry if the cup is too deep. They can face dip easily. Like other have said. If anything you can just spritz the webbing with a bit of water every week. They aren't stupid, but don't make getting water a puzzle.

I gave up on a water dish for mine, it now gets a few drops of water on the web every week and perfectly fine.

My guess is you are experiencing wicking and you’ll eventually end up with soggy substrate and a nasty smell of stagnant air/dirt/mold if there is not enough ventilation to dry it out. Don’t ask how I found this out.

I don't know how big your GBB is but I use a weighted and well grounded water dish.
She drinks quite often so I need to refill it frequently. (also dries up fast as the dish is shallow)

100%. I just dropper some drips on the webbing at feeding time. Or if she's in premolt, a couple times a week. She actually webbed over her dish at one point which I took to be a loud and clear message - "dude, STOP with the water, already" haha
