Why do you want to keep the humidity up? I have six of these guys on dry substrate and they do fine? Just curious as to why?

Nice pic earthpig about how big is your T?

I agree, mine hates humidity. If I wet the substrate it gets all fussy and wont stand on the ground. It finds either a tall landmark or the sides of the cage.

I think a full water dish should be enough preparation for an impending molt (though I'm not totally sure this guy will be molting soon). We keep our Chacos on mostly dry substrate and have never had a molting problem.

Very nice Chaco though!

My biggest female juvenile is at similar size and color. Looks like yours molted not too long ago and would appreciate a dry substrate and a water dish. You still have quite a bit of fatten up to do before "his" next molt! Did you keep the last molt?

sorry for delays in replies I have been away doing military stuff lately.

yeah he/she had molted before that pic. I had kept the molt but son wanted to show it off at school and well you know the rest of that story..didint come back the same..lol

I have been fattening it up nicely lately and it is about ready to molt again soon. I will post pics again after and pics of the molt maybe someone can help with sexing.
It is a pretty cool spider and is now around 4 inches (give or take) It likes the substarte dry and just uses the water dish. It likes to kind of shape the substrate into a little hill on one side.

Nice aureo. Is it missing a leg or are my eyes going weird?

I have an aureo about that size, don't know when it last moulted but it still eats everything it sees so I guess it won't be moulting too soon. Mine also likes to build a hill of substrate, right in the middle of the tank, and has covered it in web. Very, uh, creative
