I'm on a hunting expedition for some inverts when i found this oddly colored worm snake. It is approximately 4 inches long but i don't exactly know what's the proper ID and the proper way to keep it.

I also found this beautiful but weak Flying Draco.

The snake could be ready to shed and thats why it looks opaque. Whats wrong with the lizard is it old or sick?

I dont suggest keeping the snake if you dont know how to care for it. The best thing for it would be to release it in the same area you found it. They are beautiful, but may not make the best pets. From what I have read, these snakes are very prey specific. Google provided a bit of information on blind snakes in your region, and apparently they feed mostly on ant larvae.

i use to catch lots of those blind snakes in Austin.
they will die in captivity, as food is too hard to come by.
and the conditions to keep them alive are difficult.

Thank you very much Texas Blonde. I think I could really use this one to show my sister that they're not that bad at all, because two months ago my sister mutilated four of these when she found them on our kitchen floor and i think I know now why there's too much of them at the back of our house...we have a lot of ants nests...

Hi ted. I think that is not going to be a problem for me since we have lots of ants nest at the back of our house and in my family's farm. Actually our primary concern is how to erradicate those ants and termites nests...:)

I think you just caught part of the solution. {D It's time to release an army of elite bug-devourers!

And of course when you have dozens of cute giant worms on your property you'll give us lots of pics of them, right? Right?
