I'm so excited and very happy that the wait is finally over for my G.Aureo to molt! When I bought her a few months ago from kenthebugguy she had a huge abdomen and she wouldn't eat for anything. She then decided to web herself into her burrow and not come out for a few weeks, but with no change:? So we weren't sure if she was getting ready to lay a sack or molt. Then I started to see the signs that a molt was coming when the light patch on her abdomen started gradually turning darker and darker:} Finally this past Monday night I noticed she had flipped onto her back and was so excited to see her molt, but worried at the same time because of her very large abdomen. After several hours of checking in, I finally went to bed with her showing no signs of progress and me being more worried now. I wake up and go check, I can tell she has started to pop her top
and can just barely see her legs moving a little. Crap! I have to go to work
I call the house a few hours later continuing to check in and finally about 3:00 pm she had finished. I get home and walk in to see my beautiful baby rightside up and looking great:} I grab some tongs and successfully removed the molt without disturbing her and have it completely intact and positioned with everything in one piece for display
To say I'm happy and relieved is an understatement! All is well and she's doing great, just waiting now for her to harden up so we can see her eat for the first time:drool: Hopefully will have pics up soon. Sorry for the long post, still excited.
