Here are some pics of my "Buck". Well his mother was killed by my buds neighbor.Their was a total of 5 babies. Me and my buddy figured because they had their eyes open and were old enough to eat seeds etc, they would be fine. But after a week, a little less then that, there was only one left alive. So i came over and caught him today. Hes going to be living in a ferret cage, i read that single squirrels have low chance of successfully being reintroduced into the wild? i dont see how this differsfrom having siblings? So, i guess ill try it out next spring...but if he grows too tame, looks like i might have the gaffer for a while. If you have experience with raising squirrels id appreciate your imput, but if you are going to sit and rant, i dont want to hear it. Btw, he is 6-7 weeks old judging by a squirrelly age chart, haha.

I am so jealous. I have always wanted a pet squirrel.

Would be fun to throw it at your friends. As long as you could train it to cling to their face.

My neighbor rescued two little babies last year. IIRC she fed them oatmeal and veggies. Attempts at reintroduction to the wild didn't go well. They ran off for a day and were found on her porch the next morning, waiting to be let back in. :)

She went away for the weekend. When she gets back I'll ask what care she gave her little ones. :)

Aww, how adorable!

Well, i woke up yesterday morning, to find my squirrel laying in the cage with his eyes open, and i figured it was dead. So i picked the him up and noticed he was breathing... so i held him in my hand for abnout 3 hours and he started to pep up (body heat)...I ran him to a manager of a petstore in town im friends with, because shes a genious of this sort of thing...She knew everything that was wrong with it and told me she wanted to take it because it needed special formulas etc.Turns out she has babysquirrels too, and she has a permit for wildanimals. so i just gave him to her because his chances of being returned to the wild successfully was alot higher.

Im sorry for all the run on sentences, and other errors.... it was a late night last night ;P

get some esbilac. squirrels need milk for about 3 or 4 weeks after their eyes open. get him a cuttle bone cause they need the extra calcium. Warm the esbilac and use a dropper or better yet an oral syringe. :) good luck. Squirrels are great!
Nevermind
