My emilia has finally stopped diving into its hole whenever I look at it. I managed to get a couple pictures. It is just getting gorgeous!

When I got it in July.

Over an inch but not quite two. Probably the size of a half dollar.

I hope you get one. Mine just molted soon after I posted this. It seems about 2 inches now. :D

Geez, your brachy is growing faster than my LP! I've had my LP about the same amount of time (but did start smaller) and still isn't 2".

Your emilia is a cutie though, what a good lookin' spider!

I think this is one of the coolest looking brachy's and, indeed, one of the best looking tarantulas altogether. I have one about the size of yours, Welsh. She is a beautiful little pussycat. I've never seen her kick and have handled her plenty.

Lol... mine kicks hairs at the slightest thing... which is why I only take photos from through the enclosure.

Indeed.
Probably the calmest of the brachys in my experience, and gorgeous to boot...you really can't beat this spider.

Im more of an ow person myself id rather have fangs and speed than itchy hair.
I like the ow's too, but I like some T's around with zero pucker factor when opening the lid to their enclosures.

Oh I have become a Brachy fan. I want one of each, though all I have right now is a smithi and the emilia.

My smithi sure seems to be taking its time to grow.

I had it in a salt shaker when I got it on September 14.

And moved it to a small Artichoke jar on Nov. 15. That is a US Nickle.

My LP was slightly larger than my emilia when I got them(at different times). It is now bigger than the emilia by about half an inch.

My LP when I got it. (Don't worry, the substrate was dried considerably shortly after)

LP now.

I will try to sneak a new picture of the emilia soon!

That first photo looks just like my little guy. I can't wait until all five of my slings get some size to them. The biggest I have is my Versicolor and it is only 1". My little B. Emilia ate yesterday and now has a fat gut. My B. Emilia is 3/4".

sorry...

spur of the moment. B. emilia are great t's. I don't have any younger pics of it but the color change is amazing from when it was younger. This is the only Brachypelma individual I've had that has actually displayed a threat posture to me! Not too aggressive but ready to sink her lovely little chelicerae into your hand if it gets close enough :D I guess you get those few occasionally.

Merry Christmas everybody btw
