My A.seemanni has never been a real webber or a burrower the last couple months she decided she wanted to dig to china. lol. and now she has webbed up the entire burrow. I don't think she is pre molt as she is still eatting well. i think she has offically lost all her marbles. lol.

Yeah, could be early premolt. Just because she's eating now doesn't mean she won't stop tomorrow. dramatic behavioral changes like this could also be attributed to a moisture change in the substrate that they like (did you water heavily this week?) or to some sort of seasonal change due to the shortening of daylight hours.

My money's on early stage premolt though.

My RCF Rosie just started doing the same sort of thing in the last few weeks! She's been relatively settled and besides webbing her floor some hadn't really done any digging, rearranging, or extensive webbing. But in the past few weeks she has dug all her substrate out to the bottom of the cage under her hide, torn up all the fake plants that she had left in place for months, drained her water dish (I've never seen her do it, but somehow it gets dumped into the substrate overnight - its very wide and shallow, and not tipped over), and she's just stuck herself underground now, she's put some webbing (not a ton, but a bit) across her entrance to her hide too (though she dug a tunnel out under the side of it){D Still eating though. Very similar to your description, but I didn't think Rosie's were considered burrowers at all....

Guess it might be a time of year, daylight changes, etc thing. I like the idea that it might be early premolt though. She hasn't really darkened at all, but if its a sign she might be starting premolt then I'm excited. Can't wait for her to molt.

But I totally understand the idea of "she's lost her marbles" - seems like Flower has lost her mind too, she went from pet rock who threatens forceps to uber bulldozer! {D I'm finding it pretty amusing actually, even if she is destroying all the nice decorating I did - if it makes her happier I guess it works! :D

Has your A. seemanni molted since you got her? I had a rosie who also started digging and webbing like crazy for a few days and she also drained her water dish. Turns out she was gravid and was preparing her eggsac.

If this is the same as mine, it's because there are strands of webbing right up against the water - it acts like a siphon. If I rub my finger around the top of the dish to break the contact, it stops happening (until she webs it/climbs over it again).

Oooh....that would be even cooler than a molt!!! Mine is a pet store (WC) girl who has yet to molt, so it certainly would be a possibility for mine. Would be interesting if the OP also has a WC/pet store T who has yet to molt too. Could be an interesting surprise! :D

Need to keep a closer eye on my girl now...and work on getting the stupid pinheads that hatched out out of there faster too, just in case (my little pinhead trap does seem to be working though...)

When you see an A. seemani webbing that much, you know it's ready to molt soon. I've had just a few T's eat right before molting (does not happen often, but it does happen).

she has molted like 3 times in my care. so no eggs sacks here. This is the first time she has acted like this. I am hoping for a molt but not real sure. I am playing the waiting game. i did rehouse her about 2 months ago and gave her a different type of substrate. I changed all my T's to peat moss. so maybe thats what it is . I think maybe the change of season may be playing a part too. my S.rubronitens is on a webbing and digging frenzy now too.

I love your descriptions! :)

Of the 2 rosies I've had, one was a burrower and one not...

That's a great observation! Hope I remember it...:D

Hmmm--you've just made the idea of store-bought WC's a whole lot more interesting...

BTW, do you have a thread somewhere about your pinhead trap?
