My 6.5x5x5ft (1,215 gallon equivalent) grow tent enclosure for my leopard gecko.

Hello, wanted to show off the big grow tent enclosure that I moved my leopard gecko into 4 months ago. Saw a lot of large reptile keepers converting them into enclosures so I decided to give it a try.

The grow tent is 6.5x5x5 ft which is equivalent to 1,215 US gallons according to aquarium calculators.

The basking area is a 4x2 ft frame garden bed with 2 125 watt heat lamps (3 during the winter) and a 46 inch ZooMed T5 5.0 UVB lamp with a reflector. The rest of the grow tent is forested. The surface temperatures ranges from 86-97 degrees Fahrenheit and the UVI levels that my solarmeter picks up 0.1-1.0.


She’s loving it so far and eats very well. I love that the enclosure is so big that I can fit actual bushes and small trees in for her to explore.

No. I haven't used Facebook in over a decade. I've seen the posts in other forums though, they're all pretty cool. I also don't have any arboreal boas or vipers at the moment. (Just amphibians and colubrids)

Honestly I'm digging your set up. The motion sensing camera is a nice touch.

They absolutely can, it’s just that it would cost a serious amount of money if it was wood, glass, or pvc. Grow tents are only just now being used for reptiles smaller than tegus and iguanas. Some people are trying it for hermit crabs and small birds with success.
