My "10 inch" Blondi measurements

I couldn't get her to stretch all the way out. There was one moment when I got a 9 3/4" measurement and she wasn't even all the way stretched out but we couldn't get the shot - it was only for a split second. She just refused to cooperate! I didn't want to stress her out anymore - just isn't worth it. Got some pics of her that clearly show she's a big girl! I got some close-ups of her abdomen and I don't think she's in pre-molt. The camera showed the colors better than what I could see with a flash light, then again maybe it's just the camera lighting...who knows. Sorry I couldn't get a true measurement...I'll have to wait for the molt. We all got haired - me, my wife and our daughter...our noses, arms, faces...you name it - it itches!! Not a threat pose at all but man was she kicking and hissing! That's why I stopped - she seemed a little.....pissy.

I can see what you're saying but I still think she is bigger than 9" (not doubting you Ryan, I know you're very knowledgeable in these matters) by looking at how much further her back leg could go if it was stretched out. Her front leg is actually still a little bent as well. Not that it really matters...I'll get a really good measurement when she molts and then I'll know for sure exactly how big she is....maybe if she gets up on the glass I can get the ruler by her and snap a pic...we'll see. Right now she's just chilling in her new den...

I agree, I kinda feel bad putting her thru that.....I will leaver her be.....well I have another big female coming tommorrow.....we get to do this all over again

She is gorgeous! And the hair kicking is not fun.

I had a 10" girl, but I found the species too 'demanding' in their care requirements for my tastes. I'll stick with the Lasiodora species.

I soldv her and purchased a much larger Gravid Female, the other female is over 10".....there is another thread on her......I will post pics of the new Gravid female Tuesday.....rob

I don't think thats how you measure them. Id be mad to pay top dollar for a 10" blondi and get one that was only 10" if stretched out like a pokie on a tree, and about 8" standing like a terrestrial like it is.
Id call her a good 8" T. maybe a bit more . but i don't like them measured stretched to high heaven.
